Madam President
Kathy Paavola called the meeting to order. Roll call was taken. Jeff Hinz, Diana Saenger, and Gail Murphy were absent.
ANNOUNCEMENTS-
CLIA is here to speak to
the community. Bill Boyer, city council member, could be coming to talk about
the ball park situation. Kathy will fill us in if he doesn't make it. RJ and
Kathy Lenz lost their home to a fire and Kathy would like the community to
donate money to them.
CLIA
DISCUSSION- Mike Gayner and Ray Foster came to discuss the walleye-stocking
program the Coon Lake Improvement Association is starting. Walleyes became
extinct in our lake because of low water and cold weather equals fish kills.
They found out we have the oldest aerator in the state but we now have 2-3
aerators and the DNR will let us know when oxygen levels get low. They are
asking for organizations to donate to this cause. The Cedar East Bethel Lion's,
Ham Lake Lion's, and CHOP'S Inc. have all donated, as well as individuals have
donated. CHOP'S also had a meat raffle for them at EPs. The Program is going to
stock 12-inch walleyes in the lake. The DNR is behind them but do not want to
stock it. The program will cost about $17,500 total, $10,000 the first year and
$5,000 the second year, and the DNR will take over from there. Concerns about
our lake's ability to maintain walleye's with it being muddy and weedy were
brought up. Underwater divers have seen an 81b walleye in our lake, so there
are walleye in our lake. They are looking at netting the walleyes out of

GAMBLING
REPORT - Marge Barrett
The Gaming News
website was down, so she will have two next months.
For the month
of January, gross receipts = $52,027.00, net receipts = $10,666.00, cash
long/short = $8.00 short, net profit = 2,006.95.

The reason that
the 45/55 is so high is that we had to pay taxes and pay for prizes because it
is a fundraiser. If we do a raffle
again, she will see to get more donated prizes. So, it was not as profitable as
what originally thought. The 45/55 amount is $1975.96 but it should actually be
$975.96 because Mike Hill cashed his $1000 rent check before the first of the
month. So, the February report will be $1000 less. We had to pay for the ad in The
Press, which was $211.00, and all the other expenses.
The fishing
contest we sold $2400 in raffle tickets, we bought $1075 worth of prizes, we
profited $1376, and we were taxed $176.38. We usually are only taxed $42.56. It
was successful. We made right around $1000.
The benefit and fund-raiser are different. Dawn asked if we should be
worrying about compliance for 45/55. Marge said that April 30th is
when we have to be in compliance, which is when we renew our license, or we
will have to get money from the general account. It should be all right.

keeping this going.

SENIOR
REPORT -
Tom Reed will
be doing snowplowing and to let Kathy know if there is anyone that needs to get
on the list. Most were plowed out at after the last snowfall. He will be doing
it in the morning. He fee is $20 a driveway and his wife will be shoveling.
The Golden Agers have disbanded. If there is something the seniors
want to do during the day, they should let Kathy know.
YOUTH
COMMITTEE-
The Valentines dance
for the teens had been canceled and it has become a St. Patrick's Day Dance
instead. There was a scheduling conflict with the volunteer's and we also
thought the idea of a "Valentine's" dance might be uncomfortable and
too much pressure for the kids. We tentatively set March 15th for
the St. Patrick's Dance.
The Easter party
for the children will be in April and we will discuss it at next month's
meeting.
DOCK
COMMITTEE-
Marlene made up
membership cards and Kathy will be signing each and every one.
Members are
required to do 5 hours of volunteer work.
Mike Murphy is
working on the membership form that members will need to fill out. That
information will then go into a database.
RENTAL
REPORT-
Kathy is
thrilled with rentals. One this month. Breakfast is
coming together. Getting at least one a month. Which isn't a whole lot but the
building is being used. There is two for June, two for
July; August is pig roast month and two rentals.
OLD/NEW
BUSINESS
There are two
missing cameras. Kathy has filled out a police report and contacted the
insurance company. Talk to Connexus and it will be $1600 for the cameras. There
are still issues with the recording system and it needs to be replaced. The
insurance company will pay but not sure how much. Concerns about why we keep
getting a camera if they keep getting broke into. Discussion ensued. The tapes
are blurry and can't see anything. Bert asked if we could trade in the old
system. Kathy will look into it.
Marge covered
the fishing contest end of it. The pancake breakfast went well. Dick Lang said
the Sheriff, the county administrator, an Anoka Co. Parks worker, the Anoka Co.
architect, and D. Stanke (owned Stanke's
service station) won the prizes from our raffle. Dick sold the most tickets and
all the winning tickets©. We do not know who won the fishing contest.
Bill Boyer did
not make it so Kathy informed us that they are looking into getting some
parking and a picnic table area by the ballpark. More information will be
available after the next few council meetings.
Discussion on
how much we should donate ensued. Most places have donated $1000.
March
activities include the Teen Dance, and two pancake breakfasts.
Diana Saenger's daughter is in Girl Scouts and she was asking if
the community center would be willing to donate funds for an outing. There are
two options, one is an overnight stay at the
Dick Lang asked
if we could have a $100 snitch account for information leading to the arrest of
the individual( s) who are stealing the camera(s). It
could come out of the general account. Discussion ensued. Dick Lang made
a motion to set up a $100 snitch account Dawn Frandrup
seconded. Motion passed.
