absent.
announcements -
none. secretary's report
Kathy Paavola read the report.
There were several corrections. The date for the Easter Party was changed to
March 16th, and the problem with the store involved the scavenger
hunt, not the medallion hunt. The date for the treasurer's report should have
been

Bonnie wanted to know what the
$207.49 listed under disbursements for property upkeep was for. Marlene said it
was the cost of repairing the refrigerator and freezer.
Penny Berens
made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report subject to audit. Jeff Hintz
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
gambling report -

Marge was sick, so Bert gave the
report.
For the month of February: Gross
receipts = $43,156.00. Net receipts = $8,873.00. There was a cash shortage of
$41. Net profit was $4,440.30. 45/55 was $1,123.74.
Allowable expenses: Rent,
compensation, and Ben's wholesale should be for April. Marge's phone, MDR, and
Jim (accountant) should be for March.
Questions can be addressed next month. Lawful expenditures: The IRS
penalty of $2,118.90 for filing late for the year 2000 is being appealed. There
was a transfer to the mission account of $2,500.
We will be receiving a little
over $1,000 back from the fines we paid to the IRS. The lawful gambling expense
worksheet has been changed from last month and the numbers should now be
correct. We will also be getting a refund of $1,113.80 from unsold pulltabs and tipboard tickets.
The check register, physical and
perpetual inventory, payroll, and gaming news were all available.
Bonnie said that each item
listed under lawful expenditures should be approved separately.
Bonnie Harvey made a motion to
approve the allowable expenses. Mike Murphy seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Marlene Collen made a motion to
approve the 990-T 1RS taxes of $285.69 under lawful expenditures. Mike Murphy
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Jeff Hintz made a motion to pay
the IRS penalty of $2,118.90 for late filing even though Jim (the accountant)
is appealing it. Penny Berens seconded the motion. Motion
passed.

should be under allowable expenses rather than lawful expenditures. senior committee - none

think about - Marge goes to
youth committee
Tara and Diana are working on
the Easter Party. They have games, crafts, and a scavenger hunt planned. Kathy
will be the Easter Bunny and there will be lunch for the kids. The scouts are
having a sleepover at the clubhouse on Saturday, March 16th.
dock committee report
The committee will be meeting in
a few weeks. They need membership cards, stamps, and envelopes. The
rules/regulations, DNR slips, and dock agreements also
need to be copied. Marlene will make up the membership cards and buy stamps and
envelopes. The committee hopes to send out letters next month. There was
discussion regarding the dock fees.
Renewal notices will be sent out
and must be returned by May 31st. If renewals are not received by
then, a second notice will be sent out allowing another 30 days to respond.
There will be no phone calls! If there is still no response, a list of people
who have not paid will be given to the Board of Directors to deal with. An
article to this effect will be put in the newsletter. There will also be someone
from the dock committee at pancake breakfasts during the last two weeks of
April and all of May.
rental report - kathy paavola
There was a rental on Saturday,
and Kathy has received more calls expressing interest. Several weddings are
possible. Kathy would like to see a little more clean-up at the clubhouse
before there are too many more rentals.
old business
The last dance went okay and
some money was earned; Marlene will report the amount next month. Everyone had
a good time, but there's a small problem. Mike has karaoke and music at the bar
every weekend, and the dances interfere with business. We don't want to compete
with him, so we need to coordinate future events with him. Kathy will talk to him regarding the spring
dance. We might have to have the dances earlier in the day.
Kathy didn't receive any help
finding an electrician to fix the exhaust fan, so she will call the guy that
fixed the refrigerator to get a recommendation. She also hasn't heard anything
further on the batting cage. Bonnie said that according to the park board, a
batting cage would be fine. There may be some liability issues; Bonnie will
report on the issue next month.
new business
Kathy is looking at April 14th
or 21st to start pancake breakfasts. An announcement will be put in
the newsletter and on cable T.V. once a date is decided on. Kathy received a
