There was a compliance review with Alyce
Jacobs and she will give us a break until April 05 to be in compliance. We are
currently in the hole with the 45/55 by $1,861.19. Marge spoke with auditor and
Tom and Larry on how to bring up revenue. She was informed that to break even, will have to increase by $400 each month and may still
owe money in April 05. Marge spoke with Judy and Tracy and they will give up
their assistant gambler fee of $500.00 per month. The Legion gets $30.00 per
person for their meat raffle sellers. Our sellers have gotten $3.00 per raffle.
Marge suggested that we also pay $30.00 per person instead of $3.00 per raffle.
Marge has offered to take a cut to $400.00 per month. Bonnie Harvey was paid
$1,333.00 per month. Marge is going to ask Brian to take a cut also since she
and the sellers are taking a cut. With this plan we should be getting about
$800.00 per month and this would only be until April 05. Pull tab business is
down all over the state of MN. Joe Morgan asked how many employees there were
and Marge informed him that there were six employees. There are no Monday night
meat raffles due to low participation. Joe asked if people would volunteer to
do meat raffles on a temporary basis. Carla asked about volunteers but Marge
informed us that you must be licensed and attend classes to sell pull tabs. Our
employees are also assistant managers. Our compensation is our highest expense.
The employees also maintain the perpetual inventory and fiscal inventory. Our winter
months are the better months for pull tabs. Kathy asked if we should transfer
money to the saving and Marge will transfer $10,000.00. Marge has been worried
about the 45/55. Don Kogler made a motion to transfer $10,000.00 to savings and
Tracy M. seconded. Motion passed. Don Kogler made a motion to do one month of
payment $30.00 per occasion to employees doing meat raffle and Marge will check
with the employees and Hook's on reduction. Laura Sloniker seconded. Motion
passed. This motion will be reviewed after one month.
OLD
BUSINESS.....
SENIOR REPORT... ...... ...Marlene will
be doing a special lunch in December for the holiday and no lunch in
November.
YOUTH REPORT..... Kathy has ordered hot dogs and will buy camera
and film. Laura will bake cupcakes for
the children to decorate and she will do photos that night.
DOCK REPORT........Mike is doing post placement. Don and Joe have
digital cameras and will take pictures
of available spaces for use only, not nature
sites. George and Kathy have been painting and placing nos. and reflectors.
Docks are to be out by Nov. 1. There are currently 2 known abandoned docks.
There is a meeting scheduled for October 28. The rules and regulations will be
followed next year. Marge stated that George is out doing work and thinks that
the dock committee should be helping him. Don mentioned that he has offered to heh and Hoes not have the materials to do the work. There is an issue with the garage that is
owned by Jeff M i d t h u n is falling apart. Kathy suggested to send the person a letter from the Center that he needs to
address the letter which he has been sent from City of
breakfasts in January if there is enough help as
this is our biggest fundraiser. Joe Morgan suggested that
we raise the price of the breakfast and update the
current inside price sign.
CANS FOR KIDS........There are loose cans in the bin that people
just drop in. Kathy suggested that we
place plastic bags on the outside of bin for people
to use to drop the cans in. Jane has another check for
$68.00 for deposit.
SIDING BIDS.........There are five bids at this time. Kathy will
try to have bids for vinyl and other types of
products. We only have $11,000.00 that we can use
at this time. Joe suggested that we table bids and the siding until spring due
to funds. Kathy would still like people to look at the current bids and types
of products we have. BOOYA..........
Don said that someone brought a sample of the Hamlake
Booya and was not as good as ours. We took in $468.00
and expensed were $474.76. This was the
first time and went well. Marlene suggested that we educate people as to what a
Booya is. Bert suggested that we also have a
horseshoe tourney with it or some type of game. FUNDRAISER.........Kathy has
concern about having beer/kegs at the fundraisers. She is not sure that we
are covering the cost of the keg and that we go in
the hole when we have it. It is suggested to "bring your own
beer/booze". The Center will do "BYOB" for fundraisers. We will
continue to do keg for Pig Roast only at this time.
