COON LAKE COMMUNITY & SENIOR CENTER MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 8, 2004

Madam President Kathy Paavola called the meeting to order. Roll was taken. George Paavola was absent.

ANNOUNCEMENTS.....The flowers that are here were left from Margaret Gibowski service on Saturday. The flag is missing from the outside flag pole. Joe Morgan made a motion that we purchase two inside flag poles and have one for State of Mn. Flag and one for the US Flag.  The motion was seconded by Tara Nelson. Motion passed. Kathy expressed concern that the flag is placed outside may be stolen again.

SECRETARY REPORT.....Copies were available. Report was read by Laura Sloniker.  Corrections to the October minutes included spelling of last names of Berens and Midthun and that Herm Haayer is also a resident of Coon Lake Beach, and Verna was absent from roll.  Penny made a motion to accept the minutes as read with corrections and Marlene seconded. Motion passed.

TREASURER'S REPORT.....Marlene Colleen stated that copies are available. Checking balance is $1,678.62, Mission Savings is $35,774.52, Mission Checking is $2,820.35, and Cans for kids is $330.80. The loan balance is $19,365.07. More money was brought in from the Booya for a total of $533.00.   Joe Morgan asked about the Pancake Breakfast and Kathy stated she will start in January if there is enough help. Marge asked if the $10,000. was shown on the statement and Marlene replied yes, under the Mission savings receipts. Joe made a motion to accept the treasurer's report subject to audit and Marge seconded. Motion passed.

GAMBLING REPORT....Marge Barrett reported that copies were available.  Gross receipts were $47,018.00 and net receipts were $7,712.00. We were $4.00 short for the month. Net Profits were $1,335.94. Check register bal is $11,634.10 and the 45/55 is $1,412.34 which should be the last bad month. The girls will be doing the meat raffle for $25.00 per day. The sellers will be giving up their assistant manager salary and Marge took a $200.00 reduction in salary.  Brian will be doing the pull tabs prior to the sellers coming in and the Center will get the profits. Marge will check if this is ok for the bar to volunteer to sell pull tabs prior to the employers starting time.  Marge will check with Alyce. Allowable expenses for November and December are Hook's $771.20, MDRtax$i74.52, Ben's Wholesale $1,500 to $2,000., Newmarket $2,000., Terri Porter for consult and balance $140.00, payroll $2,000 to $3,000., and phone/fax $24.00. Jim Dittmer for annual audit is $4,200.00 and he provided an annual summary for last year. Net profit was posted for the first time in three years. Joe made a motion to accept the allowable for Nov/Dec and Jane Mogan seconded. Motion passed. Marge will ask Jim Dittmer to attend the December meeting to explain the audit. Marge will also check if a motion has to be done to accept the gambling report subject to audit. Hook's will not go down on the rent but will do the box behind the bar and be responsible for any shortages and only the 2 of them will handle the box.

OLD BUSINESS......

SENIOR REPORT.........NONE

YOUTH REPORT..........Tara state the Halloween party went great. Necklace lights were a hit and games

were played by the children at their own pace. They really enjoy having the pictures taken. Kathy reported we will continue with the pictures and games. There were 72 children under age 10 that had signed in. Marlene reported that we received $112.00 in donations which was a large amount for this event. DOCK REPORT........Kathy reported that there will be a Dock Committee meeting on Nov. 30 at 7:oopm.

Pictures have been taken and completed. Anne will do 5x7 size picture and this will fit in envelope. RENTAL REPORT.........Kathy has no rentals for November but there are four rentals for December and calls

are coming in for 2005.

CANS FOR KIDS...... Jane stated they need to take cans in to recycling center.

FENCE......Kathy thanked Joe for putting up fence. Joe will also place post around the tree and Kathy stated

we need new decorations for the tree. Laura made a motion to allow $100.00 for lights and decorations for

the tree and Ann seconded.

SECURITY CAMERAS.........Kathy has spoken with Connexus and we need an entire new system update.

There are now 2 cameras missing. Kathy made a motion to have Connexus give as an amount to fix system and to fix system, and Joe seconded. Motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS..........

HOLIDAY BASKEST.........Kathy stated there are about 17 baskets that need to be delivered. After

discussion, it was decided that for Thanksgiving food would be delivered and for Christmas they would provide a gift certificate. Joe made a motion to provide up to $3,000. for the baskets. Clay seconded and

motion passed.

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY............The date of the party will be on December 4 from 11 to pm. Carla

Clausen will donate a tree. Marlene will do flyer for the Lions Senior Christmas party. Tara suggested we place a note in the Holiday Baskets for the Senior Christmas lunches. The Thanksgiving baskets will be delivered on November 21 around 2:oopm. Laura made a motion to allow $500.00 for the children's Christmas party and Marge seconded. Motion passed. Kathy will order pizza and cookies for the party. MOVIE PROJECTOR............Kathy has had an offer from someone to purchase the projector. Kathy will find

out what the cost or value of the projector is and is asking for permission to sell this item. This is the vcr and wall projector with cart. Bert asked where the pictures are that were taken at the park. Kathy does not know what happened to them or where they are. Joe suggested that to table discussion of the vcr until next month.

Joe Morgan made a motion to adjourn meeting and Marlene Colleen seconded. Meeting adjourned Laura sionikej
