Coon Lake Beach Minnesota©

Part of the joy of being up on "The Beach" it having a dock. Many members are improving their dock shore areas, fill and leveling. If you want to improve the shoreline itself here is a DRN link for permits.

Check out the rules and regs (it's not that hard). We'd love to see you all out fishing! If you have any questions, comments or would like to see changes in the rules, attend the monthly meetings and voice your opinions. We are all in this together.

You can get the Dock Space Agreement here. You must print it out in color (ORANGE) for yearly tracking... If not, Kathy wants you to stop by and pick one up in person.

Coon Lake Community & Senior Center Rules and Regulations 2005

One dockspace per household or two per owner with additional rental homes. No more than two spaces total.

The Coon Lake Community & Senior Center has been given the authority to allow use of 20 feet of lake shore and beach to community residents on the condition that this space is properly identified and maintained in good condition. Our right of continued entitlement to the Coon Lake Community & Senior Center, boat landing, beaches and parks is contingent upon these conditions. If you are not in compliance, you will lose your privileges.

1. You must be a resident of Coon Lake Beach or own a summer home in Coon Lake Beach.

2. You must provide proof of liability insurance for any dock space. Check with your homeowner's insurance company. You agree to hold harmless the Coon Lake Community & Senior Center of any liability related to your dock space.

3. You must be a Member of the CLC&SC, agree and sign the Dock Space Agreement and pay your annual membership dues.

4. Members may contribute hours of community service ie: working at pancake breakfasts, raking, cleaning, mowing beaches, parks and community center grounds or working at other Community Center functions. This is very much appreciated and welcomed.

5. Dock area must be kept mowed and free of trash. Docks parts not in use may not be stored at dock area during summer months.

6. All docks must be seasonal. No permanent docks are allowed. Docks are to be removed from the lake by November 1st.

7. Docks must be maintained in a safe condition. Any docks not maintained will be condemned by the Dock Committee and must be removed. Any cost incurred will be at the member's expense.

8. Only one space allowed per Coon Lake address (maximum of two, one for resident and one for rental property), spaces available as designated by the Dock Committee.

9. Dock spaces are marked with a dock space number. Members are responsible for maintenance of posts.

10. No parking or launching of boats from dock space. No driving on dock space or beach area. This will cause irreparable damage to the shoreline. Members will be responsible for repair and may lose all future dock rights.

11. Improvements must be coordinated with the DNR and Coon Lake Community Dock Committee, 651-982-4628.

12. Dock space and beach is not to be used as a storage area, except for dock and lifts.

13. Winter stored docks must be behind post markers. If your dock space does not accommodate your dock, it must be removed to your home property or you must have an agreement with your neighbor to encroach on their space.

14. You have signed an agreement at the time of renewal membership granting you the right to use the dock space. You must register for the dock space when you renew your membership annually.

15. Homeowners are reminded that the dock space registered to does not necessarily go to the new owner. Purchaser must apply for membership and dock space within 30 days.

16. Violation of Rules: You will be notified by (certified) mail at the address listed on your Agreement that you will have 30 days to correct a violation. Correction of violations must be brought to the Board of Directors at the next monthly meeting. If not, members automatically lose the dock space.

17. Abandonment of Dock Property: Docks or property not maintained or in violation, as well as property left by members no longer in good standing, will be considered "abandoned". You are assumed to have given up your rights to this property, but will be responsible for cost incurred to remove and dispose of this property.

If you have any questions, you may contact the Dock Committee or attend the next monthly CLC&SC meeting held at the Community Center the second Monday of each month at 7PM.

Thank you for your support.

Coon Lake Anoka, MN

Our lake - 1,400+ acres of water make Coon lake the largest lake in Anoka County. For you folks who like to fish, Coon twice held the Minnesota State Record for the White Crappie weighing in at 3 lbs. 4oz. Coon is also a great northern and bass lake.
If fishing is not for you, then how about water skiing, jet skiing, boating or pleasently pontooning. How about a good old fashioned picnic at the beach. With over 230' of sandy beach there is plenty of room to picnic or play water volly ball or just relax and read a good book

East Bethel Discusses Sewer System with Met Council

Website News. We now have a Coon Lake Beach News Page. Dedicated to reporting the News our Local Media does not or Will Not report. Also new is our Radio webstreaming links letting Beachers where ever you are listen to local shows.

The Coon Lake Video page has an extended list of vintage and not so old family TV shows, informational videos, world of terrorism news, humor and even a couple of classic movies. They are hosted by public domain servers. The idea is to provide some a blast from the past, family classics and an educational format. I know some of you are going to really enjoy these childhood and not so distant memories.

On top of that we were contacted by two Doctoral students at the Florida Institute of Technology. They requested the usage of one of our soldier’s videos to put in a presentation for the development of technology to detect roadside bombs (IEDs). There presentation was last Thursday and we with them luck on their project. As some of you will recall this is the second request. Anything we can do, we will do.
